The Joy of Friends

An uncertain future adds a strong sense of appreciation for good friends, which is a good way to live anyway. We began our recent trek last week meeting up with Fr. Bruce and Fr. Anthony along the first half of our drive to Memphis. There we experienced the hospitality of Julie and Keith, plus 500+ volunteers at a food production rally for Serabu named “Feed My Flock”, hosted for the 13th time at St. Louis Church, which is just around the corner from Barbara and Joe. Thank you FMF volunteers for 65,000 meals, which are shipping out on our container to Africa this week!!!

Kids and grandkids filled one evening while Mike and Gretchen filled their home with culinary delights and endearing huggers another evening. Bible studiers and a loving Holy Spirit Church congregation also made us feel right at home. We anticipate more love and hugs with Tom, Michael, Fr. Tim, Anna and Mr. Tim, Buck and Malina as we travel through Tennessee and North Carolina, enroute to Durham NC for a Duke follow-up visit for Cathy, and then north for home, just in time for Halloween.

There are many pictures to choose from, but I particularly like this one of Cathy (in pink) and the volunteer scouts at Feed My Flock. Love and hugs to all our friends around the world. Thank you for adding so much life to our lives.
